A project that gives you the chills. Oktagon MMA presented at the Oktagon Time press conference in the Gong Arena in Ostrava a spectacular news that will drive fans crazy! The year 2023 will be accompanied by a pyramid of the biggest stars of Oktagon, who will split one million euros!

A new project of Oktagon! Gamechanger in the form of a year-long pyramid

It’s here, the biggest domestic MMA organization Oktagon is once again moving to the next level. At a press conference at the iconic Gong Arena in Ostrava, the organization unveiled an exciting project that will get fans out of their seats and once again push the bar with its appeal.

We will be treated to a pyramid throughout 2023, featuring the best fighters in Oktagon’s most stacked division, the Veltru. And not only those. The organization will give a chance to other European fighters, whose managers can contact Oktagon and sign up for a pyramid that is unparalleled on the domestic scene.

16 fighters from all corners of Europe will share a reward of 1 million euros!

A total of 16 fighters will take part in the classic pyramid system. Eight will be seeded by the Octagon and the remaining eight will be from the registered daredevils who will measure their strength against the biggest stars of the Octagon.

Already on the Face to Face show, Oktagon promoter Ondrej Novotny hinted that Patrik Kincl might be heading into the welterweight waters after all, where champion David Kozma reigns supreme. Will we see a fight between fighters who train together in the finals?

Apart from the aforementioned Octagon champions, the only non-European representative of Brazil’s Apollo Leandro Silva will take part in the pyramid. The European continent will be represented by now legendary Oktagon fighters. Velickovic, Jungwirth, Eckerlin, Kertész have already been announced, the rest of the pyramid is yet to be revealed.

As previously written, the pyramid will run throughout the year. Fans will see five tournaments and a total of 21 fights. At the end of the year, we will then know the winner, who will receive a reward of 300,000 euros. All the fighters will share an incredible budget of one million euros!

The spectators will play their part this time. The so-called active involvement of the spectators in the “Lucky loser” system, where the fans will decide which loser will return for the rematch or who will replace the injured.

The very first tournament will show all the wrestlers of the whole pyramid and they will have their power too. In the quarter-finals, they will be able to partially determine who they want to fight in the next round and who they will leave out.

The tournament, which will not count in the Welterweight rankings, will definitely arouse huge interest not only from the fans but also from the fighters. So next year we definitely have something to look forward to, the pyramid system in a year-round format is definitely something that will bring a fresh wind to the waters of domestic MMA.
