Novotny is disappointed with star McGregor’s coach because of Pudilova: We had a plan and he threw a pitchfork at him

OKTAGON 31 offered an excellent spectacle, many great matches. The spectators in the O2 arena provided a great atmosphere, but unfortunately Lucie Pudilova lost it due to the decision of her coach. Promoter Ondřej Novotný did not hide his disappointment.
Lucie Pudilova was originally supposed to fight Olga Rubin at Saturday’s tournament, but an injury kept her out of the match. However, Priscilla De Souza, whose opponent Cornelia Holm also dropped out, was preparing for the tournament.
So the Octagon arranged that Pudilova and Priscilla would fight together, but the Brazilian failed to meet the weight limit, as she was outweighed by almost two kilograms.
Her failure to meet the weight limit did not please promoter Ondrej Novotny, who understands that women don’t always have it easy. Moreover, the Brazilian has a difficult story behind her, he says, and nothing is black and white.
It was the failure to meet the weight limit that was the reason why Pudilova did not jump into the fight. Why? It was decided by her coach John Kavanagh, who trains, among others, the famous Conor McGregor.
“We are not happy with him. I understand that he is strict about this, but the whole team around Lucie accepted our proposal and he threw a pitchfork into it. I could understand if it was a fight in a tram somewhere, but I’m less understanding when it was the O2 arena where Lucy wanted to present herself,” Novotny expressed at the press conference.
The octagon team of the Czech fighter suggested that the Brazilian would have to meet a certain weight limit on the day of the fight. However, in the end, this did not happen.
“I respect it, it’s his right, but he didn’t evaluate it well because Lucka wanted to present herself a lot in Prague,” Novotny said about Kavanagh.
