Fans of the Czech MMA scene have been waiting for this day for several years. Today we will see the long-awaited rematch between Patrik Kincelo and Karlos Vemola.
The fight will be for the middleweight championship belt of the Oktagon MMA organization. Kincl is the reigning champion, Vémola will enter the cage first, which he is not used to.
How will the fight turn out? It’s hard to predict, but the odds favor Vémola. Now the promoter of the organization Pavol Neruda has added his opinion and described the possible development of the fight.
“I think there are two possibilities. Either Karlos will come at Patrik and in his typical way stop him in the first or second round, or the fight will last longer and as the rounds go by I think it will go more to Patrik’s side.
If it goes the full five rounds, I have a feeling he’ll win. However, I’m most curious to see what starts to happen when the cage door closes behind them and it’s just the two of them standing there. I think we know what to expect from Carlos. Now it’s about what will be going on in Patrick’s head,” he said at the public weigh-in.
Kinclo’s head is quite an important element of the match. If he can do it, he may very well defend his title. If not, he’s done. Either way, the loser won’t have the time of his life.
“It’s a big deal for both of them, the stakes are extremely high. It’s the biggest test of their lives. Imagine yours and multiply it by 100. It’s like taking a college entrance exam, a high school diploma and a driver’s license all at the same time,” Neruda said.
The Oktagon 43 tournament in Prague’s O2 Arena starts today at 6 pm. Tickets are still on sale, besides the main fight we can also look forward to David Kozma, Alex Lohorý, Miroslav Broz and others.
