Paulo Dybala’s transfer to Roma is reportedly complete and the former Juventus striker will sign a three-year contract here. The club from the Italian capital had been in a tug-of-war with Napoli and Inter Milan for the Argentine’s services after he left Juventus as a free agent at the end of last month.
According to Skysports, it is the Romans who have won the race for the Argentine international. He will sign a contract at the Stadio Olimpico until 2025 worth €6 million a year including bonuses.
Other reports by journalist Di Marzio say that Dybala is now flying to Portugal, where Roma are currently in pre-season camp for a medical.
Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport revealed that the Portuguese manager had a personal telephone conversation with Dybala a week ago.
And it seems that this conversation was crucial for Dybala, as Mourinho explained the Roma project to him and now all that is missing is the final contract signing.
Dybala seemed to be the closest to a transfer to Inter Milan. However, this transfer later collapsed on the demands of Dybala’s agent and the need to sell Edin Džeko or Joaquín Correa after the arrival of Romelu Lukaku. Later, there were reports of a reduction in demands for a new employer.
Dybala scored 115 goals in 293 games for Juventus during his seven-year stint at the Allianz Stadium. He won five Serie A titles and four Italian Cup victories for the club.
