Inter are Serie A champions! The title was celebrated after a 2-1 win over rival AC Milan

The Milan derby was thrilling until the last moment, but the three points and therefore the championship goes to Inter. AC Milan lost the match 1: 2 and five rounds before the end can no longer catch the city rival from second place.

Lautaro Martinez had the first chance of the match in the eighth minute, but missed the goal from a good position. On the other side, left back Theo Hernandez took an unconventional shot, but the Argentine international’s attempt was blocked.

Rafael Leao then had a decent chance on the other side, but only headed into the area where Yann Sommer stood ready. In the 38th minute, Marcus Thuram could have given Inter some peace, but he only hit the right post and his team was still only 1:0 up.

Armenian Henrikh Mkhitaryan had the final action of the first half, but AC’s Mike Maignan was able to keep it out. After the change of sides, the French goalkeeper capitulated, his shot to the left post was tipped over by his compatriot Thuram and Inter led 2: 0.

Hernandez could have reduced the deficit in the 52nd minute, but the Swiss Sommer confirmed his form and managed to intervene. On the other side, Hakan Calhanoglu could have made the final decision, but Maignan was able to intervene.

In the 80th minute, Fikayo Tomorim brought the match back to life, reducing the score to 1:2. The VAR subsequently reviewed the offside, but the goal stood. In injury time, Denzel Dumfries of Inter and AC’s Hernandez saw red cards after a scuffle.

After that, Davide Calabria got one more, Inter stood firm in the end and celebrated the championship title early. AC Milan remain second.
