Mikulášek turned the boos of the crowd after his win into applause with a great speech. I’m always the underdog, I’m not chocolate, so everyone likes me, he’s clear
Václav Mikulášek broke his losing streak and finally won. In a boxing match in front of a packed O2 arena he defeated the returning Michal Kotalík on points. After he was announced as the winner, the crowd began to boo. His speech, however, earned him a round of applause. He also commented on the situation at the press conference.
And it’s home. Baba Yaga performed in his own discipline and it showed. He looked relaxed in his match with Michal Kotalik, he enjoyed the match even though he injured his hand. He gave it his best and won in the end.
But it was a close match. Kotalík wanted a draw, Václav Mikulášek could understand it too. The packed O2 arena was on the side of a fighter who hadn’t even been free until relatively recently.
So when Mikulášek was announced as the winner, the hall started to boo. Baba Yaga, however, took the microphone and with a great speech turned the boos into applause.
“Is this what the guys from the Octagon deserve? Is this what Michal deserves? He deserves a big round of applause, he hasn’t wrestled in four years and he made a good match. I’m sorry your favorite didn’t win. Unfortunately, I won, and thank you all. The last two months have been hell for me, you can’t even imagine what I’ve been through,” Mikulášek let himself be heard in the ring.
” Dude, this is just the beginning. I believe you will do great things. I’m grateful and respectfully thank you for this fight.”
Of course, the whole situation was also addressed at the press conference. Mikulášek said that he doesn’t care what anyone thinks about him. He used his favorite quote, which is that there is no chocolate for everyone to like. He even compared himself to chocolate with chilli, which few people buy.
“I am always an outsider. I’m never a favorite. I’ve been an underdog since I came to the Octagon and I’m grateful for that. It’s motivation for me to work hard and do things differently. Every preparation is such a movie and the result is my premiere,” expressed Baba Yaga.
And his next opponent? He’s already asked for Chuck Norris and Godzilla, but understands that neither of those opponents can be matched by the Octagon. Now, however, he can fully enjoy the feeling of victory and do his best to carry his winning form into MMA as well.
