Matavao threatened for a while, but Vémola didn’t allow the surprise and strangled his opponent. After the win, he’s leaning on Kinceloe again, wants a championship fight
Karlos Vémola didn’t allow any surprises and he managed his “preparatory” match before the expected rematch with Patrik Kinclo. After winning the first round he didn’t forget to lean on his closest opponent.

The Terminator returned to action after a long time. In Liberec at the extremely attractive OKTAGON 41 tournament he managed to pass his test before the important rematch and title fight with Patrik Kinclo.
However, it is worth mentioning that Karlos Vémola went into the match as a huge favourite. His opponent was Al Matavao and the whole fight was immediately criticized or ridiculed.
However, the previous fights on the card gave fans hope that we could see some surprises. After all, there were several favorites in the tournament throughout the evening. This would have been a real shocker, though.
And Matavao really came into the match well. Only because the Terminator let him. He clearly wanted to test his standup, so he didn’t go for the takedown, which he may have regretted. The Samoan puncher hit him several times.
It was when Matavao was hitting Vemola that there was a lot of enthusiasm from the crowd. But when the Terminator took the fight to the ground, the whistle blew again. Then when the Olomouc native finished off a rear-naked choke, he had plenty to refer to in the post-match interview.
“I see there are a lot of fans of that little fat 77. That’s exactly what I’m not allowed to do in the O2 Arena. I mustn’t get carried away to pick up that belt exactly where it belongs,” Vémola alluded to the presence of Kinclo’s fans.
“Matavao has a great hard shot. You can see that my head is still holding up, but I can’t make mistakes like that in the O2 Arena. I will continue step by step until I take Kinclo’s belt and it is where it should be,” he added.
The Terminator eventually pointed to Attila Vegh and called him a great champion to a big ovation. He’s glad the Slovakian legend has given the nod for a rematch, which is expected to happen at the end of the year.
“How can I challenge him if I can’t beat little fat 77? It’s a huge test. I can’t lose to Kinclo. You want a fight with Attila and that fight will only happen if I win and go champion against champion, Attila is and I will be too,” concluded Vémola’s statement.
