Marpo revealed why he gave up wrestling 12 years ago. He’s expecting Vemola to make a mess of the fight
Marpo is already looking forward to the biggest fight he’s ever been in. On May 21 he will face Karlos Vemola in a boxing match. Why has he preferred music to wrestling in the past and how is he doing now?
Marpo is already looking forward to the biggest fight he’s ever been in. On May 21 he will face Karlos Vemola in a boxing match. Why did he prefer music to wrestling in the past and how is he doing now?
It’s slowly coming. The OKTAGON Underground tournament will soon be knocking on the door. It will take place on May 21. The main event will feature wrestler Karlos Vémola and rapper Marpo, who have been bumping into each other unusually often in recent days.
They met on the Karlos Show, which is hosted by the Terminator, or on the Face to Face show overseen by Oktagon promoter Ondrej Novotny. Especially in the former show, Marpo felt a kind of dislike from Novotny.
“It seems to me that since I signed the fight elsewhere, while I think this fight itself will be a sellout, it was a bit of a two-on-one. Even Novotny went after me unnecessarily at times, so I thought it was kind of funny, but I can handle it,” the Czech rapper expressed on the On Sight series.
Novotný did not deny that he is currently closer to Vémola humanly speaking. Marpo has signed a fight with the RFA organization, where he will fight Ilja Škondrič. However, the Octagon promoter is doing his best to balance the fight 50/50 and not cheer for anyone, even though, according to his words, he is in his right to feel hurt, which, of course, he does not do.
Marpo crashes with ease. Why did he give up wrestling?
It’s no secret today that Marpo has dabbled in combat sports in the past. He was even a national runner-up in Thai boxing. However, his last fight in his career was in 2010.
According to him, that was the last time he fought someone experienced. And why didn’t his martial arts career work out? “I had my last fight in 2010, I was already drumming in the band Chinaski. I had a pneumothorax, so they gave me a choice. Either you play with us or you fight,” Marpo admitted.
“I keep saying it over and over again. Since I got about three or four thousand for that fight, it was a pretty easy decision. I wanted to provide for my family so I had to give up wrestling,” the acclaimed musician added.
Marpo is looking forward to the fight. He’s great at throwing down. He has already got to a weight of around 88 kilograms, as he says he doesn’t really need to diet and can afford to sin when it comes to diet.
Otakar Petrina, as Marpa’s name sounds, believes that his fight with Vemola will be one of the biggest boxing fights ever on our territory. However, he expects the Terminator to be brutal in the style of grabbing or pulling hands.
We’ll find out if his expectations will be met on May 21.
