Macek did not win the title for the second time. How did Oktagon 29 look like?
Filip Macek got almost exactly after two years the opportunity to fight for the Oktagon title again. His opponent in Pardubice was Jonas Magard. However, there were also other interesting fights. How did Oktagon Prime 4 look like?
Bantamweight in the Oktagon has its new champion. It became Jonas Magard, who was clearly dominant in the stand-up. Filip Macek tried to force his opponent to fight on the ground, but the Dane never accepted the challenge.
Magard deservedly won the fight on points.
But besides the title match, Oktagon 29 offered several interesting fights. Lucie Pudilova dominated in her rematch with Marta Waliczek and managed to win on points.
Zdenek Polívka delivered a superbly focused and tactical performance against Robert Bryczek, who was making his first appearance in the biggest Czechoslovak MMA organization at middleweight, scoring a clear points victory.
Rafael Xavier, who has long been in contention for a title fight with Viktor Pest, managed to knock out Daniel Toledo in the second. However, even that win probably won’t be enough to make him a challenger for now.
The big draw was the return of the popular Jaroslav Pokorný, who has a very strong life story behind him. It was an attractive duel, both fighters enjoyed it. Miloš Janičič finally forced Pokorný to tap out with a great submission with a few seconds left.
A great performance was presented by Matouš Kohout, who defeated František Fodor in the second round. Jorick Montagnac, Olga Rubinova, Jakub Bahník scored a crushing KO and Václav Holota dominated the opening match on the prelims card.
