Ostrava’s darling David Kozma had a tough time in the first round of Gamechanger
As it happens in Ostravar Arena, the biggest support was given to the crowd’s favourite David Kozma. Despite the bookmakers’ odds, he fought a tough war with the Pole Siwiec in the main match of the evening and his opponent duly floored him in a three-round battle.
At the press conference afterwards, it was the native of Karviná who was the main person who got the most space from the media to express himself. But he was not at all satisfied with his performance, thanks to which he won the split decision. During the interview afterwards he revealed the reason why it was not his night.
At the press conference he revealed a health problem
“Today’s match was not good at all, I had some problems in preparation,” Kozma expressed his dissatisfaction with his performance. “There was an injury that happened to me about three weeks ago,” he revealed the unpleasant worries in preparation for the match.
“When the injury happened to me, I even thought of pulling out of the tournament,” he shocked the fans present. “But in the end, I decided to cut down on some things in my preparation. I didn ‘t spar for three weeks, I had to watch it and go into the match with the injury.”
“I’m training normally now, today’s game was fine, it didn’t hurt. It didn’t limit me in the game, I went into the game thinking I didn’t feel pain. But in the end I took the risk, went into the tournament anyway and luckily it worked out,” he concluded. In the end, he advanced to the next round and participated in the quarterfinal draw.
At the press conference, the two men had their first verbal exchanges, which added even more juice to their duel. Fans will get a spicy knife-edge fight in the quarter-finals.
