David Kozma once again showed his heart and confirmed that he is the rightful champion of the Octagon. After four rounds he defeated Bojan Velickovic, a UFC veteran and one of the three conquerors of Jiri Prochazka. What did the Serbian fighter say after the fight?

Bojan Velickovic was a slight favorite in his fight with David Kozma according to the bookmakers. The odds were subsequently reversed by the fans who bet big on the reigning champion.

Many predicted that the Serbian would be a tougher opponent for Kozma than Leandro Silva, but this was not confirmed. The Pink Panther himself admitted at the press conference that it was a tough fight, but Apollo troubled him many times more.

Still, Velickovic had one moment in the match that could have steered him to victory. He hit a great highkick that left Kozma staggering. Instead of going to the ground to beat him down, however, he attempted a submission.

“It wasn’t so much that I did anything wrong. Rather, David showed once again how resilient and tough he is. He’s a real tough guy and once again he proved that he is a champion absolutely rightfully so,” the Serb expressed at the press conference.

“I did get him in trouble, but obviously I didn’t have the confidence to go at him 100%. Some part of me wanted to prove to myself that I could do 5 rounds, so I didn’t chase the finish so much. Unfortunately it didn’t work out for me,” he added.

Velickovic admits he should have tried harder to finish Kozma. He is aware that he made a mistake for which he paid in the fourth round. But he doesn’t hang his head. On the contrary. He’s looking forward to learning from his mistakes and getting a second chance.

He’d like to get another shot at the title. But he knows he needs at least two wins to do it.
