Kozma praises referee Vobornik after losing to Brit: He handled it perfectly, for myself I would let the fight continue
David Kozma is slowly starting to prepare for the spectacular project of Oktagon called Tipsport Game Changer, in which he can fight for up to 300 thousand crowns. However, his loss to Kaiko Brito still resonates with the MMA community. The Pink Panther has now spoken out about the performance of referee Jan Vobornik.
For a long time he was the only welterweight champion, he defeated many renowned opponents, however, in the end he also fell. David Kozma didn’t keep up with Kaiko Brito in the beginning of December.
The Brazilian fighter absolutely destroyed the former Oktagon champion, he needed less than three rounds to win, in which he dealt the home star five knockdowns. After the fight, there was a big discussion about whether the fight should have been stopped earlier.
Referee Jan Vobornik, who refereed the fight in the cage, faced a lot of criticism. Not only from the fans, but also from some media. There was also a lot of talk about whether he would have let the match go on this long if Kozma hadn’t been beaten.
After all, even the promoter Ondrej Novotny believes that if the situation had been reversed and Brito had experienced similar bullying, the fight probably wouldn’t have lasted so long.
And what about Kozma? “I’ve read some comments that Vobornik left me there to be beaten unnecessarily and ended it terribly late, but I don’t think so. He ended it just right,” he commented to his YouTube channel.
“For me, I’d still let the fight go on, but I’m a fool. Anyway, it would have been pointless. I thank him for handling it perfectly. I was in my right mind the whole time in that fight, I kept fighting back, reacting. He stopped it just right,” he added about Vobornik.
