Another defense, another win. David Kozma remains undefeated in the Octagon. And with another valuable scalp, he has moved up significantly in the world rankings. For the first time in his career, he’s in the top 100.
David Kozma is the true king of the Octagon, although he himself avoids such claims and statements. In the best Czechoslovakian organization he has not lost in any of his 9 fights and has already managed to defend his championship belt four times.
Especially his last two fights were really tough. He defended his title against two UFC veterans, beating Apollo on points and knocking Velickovic out in the fourth round.
As a reward, Kozma has now seen a significant move up the world rankings on Fight Matrix. The Octagon champion moved up 26 spots to the top 100 for the first time in his career.
Until now Kozma could boast a best ranking of 111th, but before the fight with Velickovic he was at 115th position.
But now he is at a nice 86th position, which has allowed him to leapfrog the Czech welterweight leader Patrik Kinc (98th).
Interestingly, Kozma has current UFC fighters around him in the rankings. Warlley Alves is right in front of him, leaving David Zawada three places behind.
Kozma has already been brought to the attention of MMA fans by wrestler and former UFC title challenger Kelvin Gastelum, who was the English commentator at the last Oktagon event. So the Pink Panther definitely still has a chance to look into the best organization in the world. Will he make it?
