Kozma hasn’t been in a three round match in over two and a half years! How will he handle a sprint in the cage in Gamechanger’s elimination fights?
How will David Kozma cope in the first round of the Tipsport Gamechanger with a three-round fight in which he hasn’t fought for more than two and a half years?
Kozma hasn’t been in a three-round fight in two and a half years
In the first round, he will face Łukasz Siwiec in front of his home crowd. The 31-year-old Pole was with the Polish organization Babylon MMA before joining the Octagon and with a record of 8-1, he seems to be little more than mere fodder for Kozma.
Siwiec pays to be a fighter who is a threat primarily on the ground, where Kozma has had some trouble in the past. Even so, the darling of the Ostravar Arena is a deserved favorite in a duel that will see him battling the elite of the Octagon’s Welterweight division.
However, the former long-time ruler of the division will have to grapple with a new role. After all, he’s only fought five-round bouts since winning the organization’s championship. Gamechanger’s pyramid elimination bouts are only three rounds. And the last time the Pink Panther had such a match was in July 2020 at the Underground Super-Finals.
But he’s been luring the fans to a good fight since the first seconds of his match with Siwiec
“It’s going to be a change for me that it’s going to be three rounds,” Kozma said on an episode of Octagon On Sight. “I’ve been fighting five rounds for a long time, it’s an advantage for me because these opponents break in the 4th and 5th round. I can see it in them.”
“Unfortunately, it’s only three rounds now, but nothing extreme has changed. I have made some changes in my conditioning, but I will have to set a higher pace from the beginning,” he invites the fans to a proper battle from the first seconds of the duel.
David is definitely one of the most attractive fighters the organization has. And he’s shown that in his memorable defenses in the past. Let’s hope he can make the main fight of the gala for the attractiveness of the next rounds of the pyramid.
