Kozma doesn’t want a third fight with me? I understand him, I wouldn’t want to risk losing either, says Kertesz before his fight with Velickovic
Mate Kertesz has a big challenge ahead of him. He will challenge Bojan Veličković, one of the toughest opponents he has ever faced, at the OKTAGON Prime 5 tournament in Šamorín. A win could bring him closer to a third fight with David Kozma. What does the Hungarian fighter have to say before the fight?

A win could bring him closer to a third fight with David Kozma. What does the Hungarian fighter have to say before the fight?
Mate Kertesz has only lost three fights in his career, two of them to champion David Kozma, both on points. The Pink Panther understandably doesn’t care too much about a third fight, he won twice, he has nothing to gain by a third fight actually.
Kertesz sees it similarly, and he understands Kozma’s approach to a potential third fight. “We’ve had two tough fights together and both were decided by the judges in his favour. If I were in his shoes, I wouldn’t want to risk losing a third fight either,” he expressed in the On Supervision series.
Robert Bryczek was the third defeater of Kertesz. He also lost to him only on points. However, he is currently riding a wave of three wins, having successively defeated Christian Jungwirth, Bruno Carvalho and Robert Pukac in memorable fights.
Now he faces one of the biggest challenges of his career, Bojan Velickovic, who he will face in late March at OKTAGON Prime 5. Velickovic is a UFC veteran and has had some big fights, he has also fought Kozma but was able to defeat him early.
“I don’t consider Bojan the best fighter in the Octagon. David Kozma is the champion and he is the best in our weight class. Bojan is just another obstacle for me on the way to the title, so this fight was inevitable,” Kertesz is clear.
The likable Hungarian fought last in September and was supposed to fight again in November, but unfortunately he broke a bone in his hand during training and had to undergo treatment instead of fighting. But now he is rested and ready to show that he deserves a third title fight.
