The match with Pirates has been postponed, so the preparation will stretch until the end of February. In an interview with Kaocko, Patrik Kincl said that he is also worried about the match taking place at all. The reason is injuries, which are quite common in this popular sport.
Patrik Kincl used to fight for the title in the prestigious KSW organization, but Robert Soldic beat him and Kincl decided to take a different path.
First he wanted to fight alternately in Poland and the Czech Republic, but then came an offer from Oktagon, which is simply not to be refused.
Kincl will get a chance to go for the title in his first fight, he will face Samuel Kristofich in the middleweight division. The fight was supposed to be at the end of the year, but due to coronavirus restrictions it won’t happen until February.
“I have discussed it with Ondra Novotny, he said he is convinced that it will take place even if there are some measures. The only thing I think is that the Pirate shouldn’t put it in reverse, he shouldn’t get hurt somehow. I saw he has a game announced for the end of the year. I don’t know what it is, I haven’t researched it. That’s my only concern, that some injury would come,” Kincl said in an interview with Kaocko.
He then took a dig at his opponent, who hasn’t spared him much in recent statements. However, Kincl has no doubt who will be the next champion.
“As the fight gets closer, he starts to realize that he won’t be champion for much longer. It could happen. Whether intentionally, unintentionally, that’s my concern. Of course, I can get hurt, too. In general, injuries are my biggest concern,” he added.
