Kincl got a dangerous challenge from a UFC veteran! He says he turned it down for more money and has a vital decision to make
30. december was supposed to be the conclusion of one episode, but unfortunately that won’t happen. Karlos Vémola is in the hospital and Patrik Kincl is waiting for a new opponent. Theoretically, it’s already decided, but a British UFC veteran is trying to get involved. The middleweight champion faces a difficult situation.
30. december was supposed to be the conclusion of one episode, but unfortunately that won’t happen. Karlos Vémola is in the hospital and Patrik Kincl is waiting for a new opponent. Theoretically, it’s already decided, but a British UFC veteran is trying to get involved. The middleweight champion faces a difficult situation.
Vemola is injured, who will replace him?
Patrik Kincl was already worried that the rematch wouldn’t happen due to problems on Karlos Vemola’s side. And unfortunately for everyone, they came true. It complicates the situation for him, the Terminator, the fans and the organization itself. On the whole, it’s not a positive for anyone.
The former KSW title challenger may defend the Octagon middleweight belt as early as December 30. Unless he cancels the fight altogether. After all, that would be a more than understandable decision.
Of course, it all depends on who his opponent would be. A title fight is simply no fun and thorough preparation is needed. Given that he has been preparing for Vemola for a long time, it is understandably dangerous to take on a stylistically different opponent.
The Pirate has claimed the fight, Robert Bryczek has also publicly claimed it. However, iDNES journalist Robert Rampa has come forward with the information that Leandro Silva was also interested in the title fight and even English UFC veteran Tom Breese has asked for it.
It is Breese who has been pushing the envelope so far. The man who holds a 15-4 record, having won 5 of 8 fights in the UFC, has even agreed to the fight with the organization according to MMA Shorties. However, Breese says Kincl turned the fight down and doesn’t want it even for more money.
The Octagon wanted Kincl to fight Aleksandar Ilich, but he can’t make the fight. If Kincl turns down the fight at the end of December altogether, it won’t be a surprising decision.
Kincl has a vital decision to make
Patrik Kincl is now under pressure. It is understandable that Tom Breese, for example, is pressuring him. But the Czech fighter is facing an extremely difficult situation. He’s 33 years old, in the form of his life, and could potentially flirt with the UFC.
After all, any match would be risky. Kincl will have to be careful not to get hurt. A possible knockout from a quality stand-up fighter won’t help him either, as he would then have to take a forced break due to his health. Not to mention that he was preparing for a fight that was personal and had a lot of meaning to him from a human standpoint, not just a sporting one.
He is also deciding between fighting for 300,000 euros or throwing away this chance in exchange for ending his personal vendetta with Vemola. If he were to participate in Game Changer, the fight would probably not happen until 2024. Who knows what state the Terminator will be in by then.
At 33, every step in a fighter’s career is already crucial. With Game Changer taking him out of any other fighting activities for an entire year, and the way Vemola is doing, that goes double for Kinclo now.
The cancellation of the fight also has psychological pitfalls. Motivation can be gone, potential burnout, disappointment… If there’s one thing Kincl needs now, it’s peace and time. After all, he’s deciding his next move with his wife. He knows that the next step will affect everything.
