Kincl can beat Vémola, believes title replacement Robert Bryczek, who will not be absent from the O2 arena. How is he preparing for his three opponents?

On May 20, we will see the most expensive and probably the best tournament in the history of Oktagon. Robert Bryczek, Lee Chadwick’s opponent and the understudy for the title fight Kincl vs. Vémola, will take part in it. In an interview with RUIK, he spoke about his situation and his opponent.

Three losses in a row? I’m a different fighter now, reports Bryczek

Robert Bryczek entered the Octagon in 2019 in style, defeating Máté Kertész. But then he fell short against Leandro Silva in the organization and it was his first loss in six years.

It was his last fight in the Octagon for more than a year, and he went to the FEN organization, which is the number two in the Polish market, to correct his taste. There he notched up two wins and then headed back to the Octagon, hoping to get back on a winning streak there as well.

But it didn’t happen. He was knocked out hard by Kaik Brito, followed by a loss to Zdenek Polívka and again more than a year break in the Octagon and a return to FEN, where he scored two more wins.

“A lot of time has passed since those losses, a lot has changed. I’m a different fighter now,” Bryczek commented on the previous streak of three losses to RUIK. And we could already see that, in December he managed to knock out Abdel Rahman Driai in an exemplary fashion.

“That fight is in the past. It is now and I am looking forward and focusing on the next opponent. Of course, I’m more confident and more motivated because of my last win, just like after every win like this. I will show it on May 20,” says the Polish fighter.

He is looking forward to the fight. His opponent will most likely be Lee Chadwick, who is nicknamed “the English Vemola”. “There’s only one Vémola, one Chadwick, one Bryczek. Every fighter is different. I don’t care about his qualities. I know mine very well, and my skills on the ground are one of them. Maybe that will surprise some people,” he responds.

“I always feel like the favorite. I believe I can beat anyone. And if Chadwick fits my style? I don’t look at it that way. The way I see it, if I want to be the best, I have to deal with everybody,” Bryczek added.

Kincl will win, Bryczek believes. How does he feel about being a title replacement?

Robert Bryczek has finished his preparation, the main part of which he spent in Warsaw as usual. Apart from that, he was at a camp in the mountains in Zakopane, where, according to his words, he had many great sparring partners who simulated Chadwick.

But the Polish fighter is now in an unusual situation. Apart from being scheduled to fight the Englishman at the O2 Arena, he is the understudy for the title fight, in which Patrik Kincl and Karlos Vémola are scheduled to face each other.

“I was not surprised that I was offered to be an alternate. In fact, I was already prepared for it. I didn’t have to think twice about it. Octagon knows that I’m a fighter for special occasions and that they can count on me,” Bryczek said.

He doesn’t see it as a complication: “My job is to improve, to be ready for everything and everyone. My style is the best and most dangerous. It can only affect my performance in one way. I will be even better prepared.”

And what is his prediction and who would he rather fight? “Vemola is a big name, he has great qualities, but Kincl is just as experienced and much more comprehensive, so I think he should win. And who would I rather fight? I’m only interested in the title. It doesn’t matter who stands in my way.”

“I thought about participating, but health and winning are the two most important things for me. From the Oktagon side, it’s a great project. If it was the same in the middleweight division, I would go for it right away,” says the Polish fighter.

Dropping down to welterweight so often could have negative consequences for him, especially through his health, so he decided not to risk something like that.

Still, he intends to be active this year. Just like last year, he wants to have three fights. If his health allows it. “Time will tell. But right now I’m just focusing on May 20. Keep your fingers crossed for your Slavic brothers,” he concluded the interview.
