Karlos Vémola will face the defeated Pirate at Štvanice

Karlos “Terminator” Vémola confirmed his next opponent in MMA in an interview with iSport. It will be theloser of this weekend’s Oktagon 31 gala, Slovak fighter Samuel “The Pirate” Krištofič.
As we informed you yesterday, the opponent of former Oktagon middleweight division champion Karlos Vemola will indeed be one of the pair of Pirát Krištofič and Patrik Kincl.
Both men were featured at Saturday’s Oktagon 31 tournament at the O2 Arena in Prague. In the main event of the evening, Patrik Kincl defeated his Slovakian opponent after a dominant performance to take the middleweight championship belt from him.
Karlos Vémola, the holder of probably the most famous name fighting on the Czech scene, has to take the situation hard. He still claims the belt now held by Kinclo.
The reason for this is the fact that the Oktagon organization took it away from him last year due to the fact that he did not meet the weight limit in the title fight with Milan Datelinka.
Vémola challenged the Pirate
Karlos told the studio at Saturday’s event that he would like to challenge the Pirate at the Štvanici tournament, no matter how the fight turns out. The two fighters had a heated trash talk during the year after Pirat won the belt at last year’s Stvanica after a fight with Naruszczka.
In an interview with iSport.cz, Vémola confirmed that he will return to MMA at this year’s Stvanica event to face Pirát. This is despite the fact that the fight will not be for the title. “I have agreed with Ondra (Ondřej Novotný, promoter of Oktagon) that I will go to Štvanice with Pirát,” he confirmed the choice that fell on the Slovak fighter.
“Which I think is fair, I haven’t been in an MMA fight for almost two years, so maybe just because of my name I don’t deserve a title fight right away,” he explained the reasons for his decision.
Vémola wants to take the belt from Kinclova by the end of the year
“I’ll go with Kristofich, I’ll beat him. My next challenge will be to be the first one to ever finish him before the limit,” Vémola described his idea of how the expected fight should go. “Then, at the end of the year, I’ll go for the belt of the guy I already beat once,” he said.
“I can see that he’s not in the best shape, that he’s not able to make this weight. Or he’ll have to flatten out a bit, and then be that fat little seventy-seven,” Vemola has no doubt that he will beat Kincelo again.
We’ll see how the situation turns out in the end. In May, Vemola will face a boxing challenge against Marpo. Let’s hope Karlos’ health holds out and we see him back in the octagon in the summer.
