Karlos Vémola returned to the cage this weekend after a long layoff and in a month’s time he will have his toughest and most watched fight in years. But now he has to deal with an unpleasant problem, as information about an investigation into the Octagon star has been leaked to the media.
The Terminator has had a fairly successful return to the cage. In fact, he made his first fight appearance in quite some time on Saturday when he finally recovered from his health issues and was tested by the underdog Al Matavao.
The Samoan fighter, however, managed to at least give the Czech fighter a hard time from the beginning of the fight. Karlos Vémola admitted that Matavao was able to shake him. However, he was eventually able to get the fight to the ground, where he was already looking to finish his opponent early.
Then in just a month, Vémola is set to challenge middleweight champion Patrik Kinceloe in an anticipated and once-delayed rematch. Fans are looking forward to the fight.
Other than that, Terminator would like to be very active before the end of the year, with a rematch with Attila Vegh planned for the end of the year, before that he wants to get one or even two more fights after Kinclo.
However, his plan may get a significant crack. He is being investigated by the Nymburk police, who took over a case from the customs officers who searched Vémol’s villa on 14 December.
The information was provided by TV Nova, with more details added by news server TN.cz. Vémola is to be prosecuted for unauthorised handling of protected wildlife.
“All I can say at the moment is that we are looking into the case, but unfortunately we cannot be more specific at this stage. We will provide information when the circumstances of the proceedings allow us to do so,” Vlasta Suchánková, a spokesperson for the Central Bohemian police, told TN.cz.
And what is the Terminator actually facing? According to TN.cz, Vémola could end up in prison for up to three years, or his animals could be confiscated or his activities banned. However, the investigation could drag on for months or even years.
