Kalashnik’s out of luck! Favourite Hathaway replaced by German champion in Gamechanger
When Tipsport Gamechanger John Hathaway dropped out of the Tipsport project on Monday, fans were sad. They lost their biggest favourite who returned to MMA after a long hiatus. After that, the wait was on to see who would replace him in the project, but it wasn’t the favorite Andrei Kalashnik.
It was thus certain that his place would be filled by someone else. It was expected who Oktagon would donate, but in the end it was not the favorite Andrei Kalashnik.
This is despite the fact that it was previously claimed that the injured man would be replaced by the top ranked wrestler according to the organization’s rankings. But Octagon has decided otherwise and has every right to do so.
Instead of Kalashnik, it chose Marcel Grabinski, a thirty-one-year-old German who was supposed to be part of the reserve match that would open the entire tournament.
Thus, Ioannis Palaiologos of Greece currently has no opponent and Grabinski will face Maté Kertész, who is known to almost every fan of the organization.
However, Kalashnik does not have to be sad. He still has a chance to show what he has in him, against Matúš Juráček in a reserve match.
The organization probably wanted to keep him due to his attractiveness. Moreover, it is quite possible that the winner of this fight will still join the pyramid, after all, injuries are not uncommon in MMA.
