Juráček doesn’t understand the continuous fan voting for the lucky loser: It makes me sad that our people are pacting with foreign fighters
On Thursday, Octagon released the interim results of a fan vote to select the fighters who have yet to appear on Tipsport Gamechanger. Matus Juracek and Andrei Kalashnikov are not doing so well. Especially the former has reservations about the results.
The losers, however, still have a chance to get back in the game for millions of crowns. Currently, the fans of the Czechoslovakian organization are voting for the two fighters who will be able to participate once again in this great project of Oktagon.
Voting runs through Sunday and Oktagon released the interim results on Friday afternoon. It boasted that 50,000 fans voted, which is undoubtedly a great number.
Promoter Ondrej Novotny later revealed on the MMA Flying Around the World podcast that the number of voters had even risen to 70,000.
But what do the interim results look like? Samuel Kristofich is sovereignly ruling the voting, followed by Ion Surdu. Third place is held by Lukasz Siwiec, and Leandro Silva, Radovan Úškrt and Máté Kertész are also above 10%.
Lagging far behind are the fighters from the Czech Republic, Matúš Juráček (6.1%) and Andrej Kalashnik (4.9%), who are in the last three. This is especially not to the liking of the former.
“Friends and friends, I know how the voting works. I’m a little sad that our people are packing more with foreigners, but that’s just the way it is. I could still understand that maybe they don’t root for me because I’m a Slavist. I don’t root for Sparta in Europe either,” Juráček said on Instagram.
“But I don’t understand at all why people don’t vote for Andrei Kalashnikov, who maybe I don’t like because he’s a rival, but he’s our home team and there are foreigners in front of us. But that’s the way it is. Thank you to those Czechs who are rooting for us Czechs,” he added.
