On Thursday, Jablonec will face Celtic in a Europa League qualifying double-header. Before that, the Scottish club has brought in reinforcements from the Premier League. This is the experienced English goalkeeper Joe Hart.
Thirty-four-year-old goalkeeper Joe Hart joins Celtic from Tottenham Hotspur. The Scottish club had to pay 1.20 million euros for the Shrewsbury native.
Hart has signed a contract with his new club until 30 June 2024, so he has only been at Spurs for less than a year. During that time, the experienced English goalkeeper played in 10 games, scored 8 goals and kept 5 clean sheets.
Now the thirty-four year old Englishman is waiting for a new engagement and he also commented on it during his contract signing.
“This is a great moment in my career and I am absolutely delighted to join a club like Celtic. I know how big this club is. I can‘t wait to play in front of the fans at Celtic Park,” Hart told the Scottish vice-champions’ club website.
“I’m looking forward to meeting my new teammates and working with the team and especially the other goalkeepers here, ” added Joe Hart.
The first leg will be played at home on Thursday at 17:45, with the return leg at Celtic Park a week later on August 12 at 20:45.
