It’s shaping up to be an interesting fight in the Octagon! The Pirate is in for an attractive challenge. Can he resist Bellator?
Samuel Kristofich, the former interim Octagon champion, is now without a contract and deciding his future. Bellator in the US is interested in him, and RFA could be in play as well. Now, however, he’s got an interesting challenge in the Octagon. Will he accept it?

What will happen to the Pirate? The Slovakian fighter became the interim champion of the Octagon a year ago at Štvanica. He was given the opportunity to fight for the regular title with newcomer Patrik Kinclo. But he wasn’t enough for him.
Samuel Kristofich fought Kinclo in February. He hasn’t been in the cage since. He’s out of contract in the Octagon, so he’s figuring out what direction his future will take.
On social media, the Pirate admitted that an offer from Bellator, which has been interested in him for some time, landed on his desk. If he gets a fight for September or October, he would go for it. However, he got an offer for November and that’s still at welterweight, where he’s not fighting.
Otherwise, the Pirate intends to stay on the domestic scene. He has also been in talks with the RFA, but as he let it be known after the last RFA tournament, he doesn’t see things looking rosy with the new organization, even though he has good feelings about promoter Boris Marhansky as a person. He is considering the offer anyway.
However, the Octagon is still in play as well. Moreover, the Pirate has received an interesting challenge. Zdenek Polivka, his ranked neighbour in the middleweight division, is challenging him on Instagram.
Polívka first congratulated Kristofich on his successful wedding. “I hope you will say ‘yes’ to our fight, which would be appreciated by many fans in the Czech Republic and Slovakia,” the Czech fighter said.
Among other things, Polívka noted that the Pirate would like to fight in Germany. Oktagon will hold a tournament in Frankfurt in October. “I’ve already fought there and the hall is great, the people too. Definitely don’t do it. Let’s show people that we are not clowns and Jokers, that we can do without embarrassing comedy and buffoonery and that we are athletes and gladiators first and foremost,” Polívka said.
