The tradition remains! It was a drama, the wait for the official announcement was unusually long, but it was done. Oktagon has finally announced that they will be performing at Prague’s Štvanica this year.
The most beautiful tournament of the year will also be this year! Oktagon can also rejoice this year that it will return to the legendary Prague’s Štvanice, which is a legendary place for every sports fan.
Promoter Ondřej Novotný has been saying for some time that the organization is really trying to bring Oktagon back to Štvanice this year, but he also clearly indicated that it is not that easy.
While he wasn’t too specific, he did express high hopes in recent weeks and in recent days he announced that everything is almost settled and that an official announcement is close. We got that on Friday evening.
At the public weigh-in before the OKTAGON 43 tournament, which will take place at Prague’s O2 Arena on Saturday, a short trailer was played, with a few words from Novotný himself.
We now know that the open-air tournament will take place on 29 July and tickets are already available to those who pay for a membership to the OKTAGON TV Club.
Everyone else will be able to start buying tickets from 18:00 on Saturday. It can be expected to sell out very quickly. There is always a great interest in Štvanice.
“There is only one Štvanice in the world. It was a big chase, but in the end we thank everybody, God, the Mayor of all the Prahs and so on for making it happen. We are looking forward to it very much,” Novotný said during the weigh-in.
Last year saw the ascension of Karlos Vemola to the royal throne, we also got to see the halftime show when the Lake Malawi band performed during the tournament.
