Is Vemola’s fight with Marpo a foregone conclusion? I know that the outcome may not be decided only by the art of the players, said Konecny
Lukas Konecny, former boxer and world champion, commented on the upcoming duel between Karlos Vemola and Marpo. According to him, both fighters are only after money and he hinted that there could even be a pre-arranged result.
Lukas Konecny, former boxer and world champion, commented on the upcoming duel between Karlos Vemola and Marpo. According to him, both fighters are only after money and he hinted that there could even be a pre-arranged result.
Lukas Konecny used to be a respected boxer in his time, he also got many people started in combat sports, but lately he is not very popular.
Now, he has certainly pissed off MMA fans and the Oktagon organization. The evening tournament of the leading Czech organization will offer boxing duels, the highlight of which will be the fight between Vemola and Marpo.
“This is a fight that on the one hand is very heated, but on the other hand it is just an exhibition and everyone is all about the money. So the result could be anything, it depends on the stakes and the agreement.
I don’t follow MMA, but I’m really interested in this result. Unfortunately, I know that the outcome may not be determined solely by the skill of the actors. Nevertheless, I will be looking for this result the morning after the event!” he told iSport.
Thus, Konecny said that there is a possibility that the fight is fixed. However, these words are quite far from reality, this tournament is not one of the classic exhibitions he is used to from boxing.
Konečný himself fought for example Petr Švancara at the last exhibition tournament and got sent to the ground. Before the tournament he didn’t suggest that he was going to do something similar.
“I was thinking if I should just knock his teeth out and break his ribs… But in the end I decided that it would be better to kill him in the ring! After all, my fame has slowly faded and this way I will be known by every Brno man and every kickboxer again,” he told Profiboxing.
