Is it worth working like this? Kincl admits Vemola’s injury may affect his preparation

Patrik Kincl has his second defence in front of him. At the end of the year he should face Karlos Vémolá. However, on Thursday, information that the Terminator is in the hospital saw the light of day and there was even speculation about a potential threat to the fight. What does the middleweight champion have to say?
30. december, O2 Arena, OKTAGON 38, Patrik Kincl and Karlos Vémola are scheduled to face off in the main event. A clash of two champions, a fight between two implacable rivals who have been waiting four and a half years for their rematch.
Kincl as middleweight champion, Vémola as welterweight champion. The former has already expressed fears that his opponent will not enter the fight. And his fears seem to be coming true.
The Terminator ended up in the hospital because of severe inflammation in his hand. Promoter Ondrej Novotny says that the fight is not in danger at the moment, but it will certainly interfere with Vémol’s preparation and it is not impossible that the inflammation will not return.
Kincl admitted unpleasant thoughts
Overall, the match will certainly be affected. Even Kincl himself admitted that it might have a bad effect on him. He also discussed it with his wife, with whom he was heading from Slovakia to Ostrava for the OKTAGON Time press conference.
“I said that it’s actually unpleasant for me too, because I’m as motivated as I’ve ever been in my career, I’m broken every day. It’s something that can make me angry. Will the fight even happen? Is it worth it to work like this? Wouldn’t it be better to slow down and save it for later if the fight were to be postponed?” the champion offered his thoughts.
However, he intends to work 100% until December 30 and refuses to allow himself any slack.
Vemola has already been able to make the fight after various health complications, so it wouldn’t be a complete novelty for him. Plus, he’s motivated by a big payday. In fact, he himself has stated that the fight with Kinclo will be the best payday of his career.
Let’s hope the Terminator recovers and that we see the fight. This is the biggest fight on Octagon soil this year and will be closely watched. Plus, given the news that the organization has unveiled, it’s fairly unlikely that the fight will happen next year.
