Is he angry at his friend Kinceloe who is planning a fight with the Brit? Welterweight title to be suspended, I’ve been promised a rematch, says Kozma
David Kozma has a Tipsport Gamechanger project in front of him, in which he is the biggest favourite after John Hathaway dropped out. However, he himself has to worry about his welterweight friend Patrik Kincl winning the title in the meantime after his match with Kaiko Brito, with whom he is promised a rematch.
Last time he was in the cage against Kaiko Brito, he was not enough for the Brazilian and lost the title. His opponent was introduced as another member of the pyramid at the subsequent press conference, but it ultimately came to nothing.
Brito decided that he wanted to take things more into his own hands and withdrew from the tournament, as he would not be able to fight elsewhere if he were to participate, plus he would not be able to decide the dates.
Kozma thus lost one opponent, while it was certain that Patrik Kincl would not take part in the tournament either. And he could theoretically fight for the title with the Briton.
It has been talked about for a long time and even the organization wouldn’t be against it, but Kozma probably doesn’t like it too much. The reason is simple, Kincl is his friend and he would prefer if their paths didn’t cross. Plus, he’s promised a rematch.
“I hope he doesn’t fight Patrick. The Welterweight title is supposed to be on hold and I’m promised a rematch. Because I’ve held the title for several years and I’m entitled to it. I’ll definitely want it. We’ll see what the Octagon has to say,” Kozma said in an interview with iSport.
So based on these words, it seems that Kincl will have to wait for the welterweight fight. The promoters are definitely not going to make fun of Kozma and will give him a chance to fight the Brit. Plus, Kozma has held the title for a really long time so it’s not out of the question that he doesn’t go straight for the title.
