International Cup of small football won by the first Czech team composed of newcomers

They couldn’t have shown themselves better to the national team coaches. Players of the first Czech Republic’s selection, consisting mostly of newcomers to the national team, dominated the International Cup tournament. In the Podještěd sports complex Český Dub, they defeated the second team of the Czech Republic in the final, whose jersey was worn by mostly experienced players.

The Czech Republic1 did not lose a single match at the tournament. In the group, they first drew with England 3:3, then beat the second Czech team 6:5 and finally defeated Ukraine 2:1.

The final match between the two Czech teams was won by the first team 5: 3. England took the bronze after a 5: 2 win over Ukraine.

Twelve players from three clubs of the Super League of small football were in the winning Czech team. Olomouc Mighty Ducks, SC Koráb Praha and Partyzan Příbram had four representatives each.

The preparatory camp of the Czech national team continues until Monday.
