Twenty-four league games, fifteen goals and five assists – that’s the record of Chelsea’s new signing for the 2022 season, as Norway doesn’t play spring and autumn.
Fofana convinced several European clubs with his performances in Molde, but the 20-year-old Ouragahio native chose Chelsea anyway.
According to respected journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Stamford Bridge outfit will send €12 million to Molde.
It should be noted, Fofana has already made two starts for the Ivory Coast senior national team despite his age.
In total, he has played 65 games for Molde across all competitions, scoring 24 goals and assisting another 10.
Fofana then of course has already passed his medical tests and needless to say, in this case it will be a long-term contract.
Interestingly, the 181cm tall striker announced a few months ago that he has always wanted to play for the Blues and Chelsea is where his heart is. It must be added, Fofana is currently considered one of the biggest talents in European football.
Apart from Chelsea, several other English clubs have shown interest in him, most notably Brighton, Brentford and Leicester.
