AC Milan very close to a new signing! A big Dutch talent is heading to the San Siro, the Rossoneri preferred him to the Premier League as well

AC Milan are currently very close to a new signing. The Rossoneri are looking for new players after an ultimately unsuccessful season, one of them being Joshua Zirzkzee. This was reported by Italian daily La Repubblica.

An early end in the European Cups, second place in Serie A with a loss of almost twenty points to leaders Inter. A season from which the Rossoneri had hoped for much more.

In fact, the Milan giant’s management has already taken the expected step to improve for next season. It has sacked current coach Stefano Pioli, who is to be replaced in the coaching chair by the current French Lille pilot Paulo Fonseca.

But besides that, the Rossoneri are also focusing on the playing staff, special after Olivier Giroud left the club. He has made his way to the MLS, but quite objectively, AC hasn’t been bringing in as much as in previous seasons.

Joshua Zirkzee is supposed to be the replacement for the French national team’s all-time top scorer. This was reported on Sunday morning by the Italian newspaper La Repubblica.

According to the latest reports, the 23-year-old Dutch forward is set to head to the San Siro, although Arsenal were also interested in him. However, Zirkzee has reportedly chosen AC Milan.

The Schiedam native arrived in Bologna at the end of August 2022 from Bayern, for €8.5 million. His performances helped this year’s Serie A surprise qualification for next year’s Champions League, scoring 11 goals and adding 5 assists in 34 games.

The move to Milan, however, will understandably not come for free. Bologna are set to cash in €40 million for their elite sniper, which is, after all, the amount of the exit clause. The transfer is expected to be completed in the next week, after which the official announcement will follow.
