When he learned of the injury to his next opponent, he was not happy. Vlasto Čepo was looking forward to finally facing his rival, but he will have a different opponent in Bratislava. What did he say about Peñaz’s injury?

Oktagon announced Matej Peňáz’s injury on Wednesday evening. He broke his arm badly and it is certain that he will not be able to return to Bratislava in April.

His fight with Vlast Čep will have to be cancelled again. Fans on social media are disappointed and many nonsensically claim that he was only afraid of Čepa.

The Slovakian fighter issued a statement on his Instagram wishing his rival a speedy recovery, while adding that we will still see him in Bratislava.

“Hey, you probably already know that my fight with Matej Peñaz won’t happen. I’m getting an awful lot of messages asking me if I know about it and how I react to it. First of all, I would like to say that it’s definitely not pleasant for him. I guess like any athlete.

An injury like that and a fracture like that? It’s definitely not a fabrication or something that he’s afraid of me. We’re athletes and we give it our all because fighting is what we do for a living. I’m so sorry. Of course, I wish him a speedy recovery.

The recovery time for Peňáze is still unknown, and only further examinations will give a good idea if the ligaments have been damaged. But if we see their fight this year, it will be at the very end.
