The Vémola vs. Kincl rivalry is escalating
Fans have waited four long years for the resolution of an old story that has divided the domestic mixed martial arts scene. The rivalry between Patrik Kincl and Karlos Vémola has reached its peak and is unprecedented on the domestic martial arts scene.
The main draw of the Oktagon 38 was to be decided by an old feud from the days of the XFN organization, where they fought a battle from which Vémola eventually walked away victorious. Kincl then demanded a rematch, however, the Terminator headed to the waters of the Octagon, where their paths have now clashed again.
However, the battle between the two champions did not take place due to the health of Vémola, which caused another wave of discontent between the two men. The situation even escalated to the point where Kincl filed criminal charges against his rival for his recent comments.
At the end of the year, Karlos received a huge wave of criticism when he shared on his social networks pictures from the gym, snowboarding or swimming in nature. From the hospital, he stated that he would cut himself off from his social networks for a while and would not be able to train for at least three months due to his medication.
For every wrestler, I’m the Gamechanger, reports Terminator
Now, he has taken to Instagram live to address the considerable public criticism. He confirmed that he consults with his physiotherapist for said activities, and they differ significantly from full fight preparation. In addition, he revealed his plans in the new year and revealed which weight class he is now interested in.
“This year I’ll be aiming everything towards fighting for the title and winning the belt in the welterweight division,” the welterweight champion confirmed that his steps will be towards the division where Kincl reigns supreme.
“And if the rematch with Patrik Kincl will be a rematch, it’s up to him. I understand that he might be frustrated that I got hurt, but it can happen,” said Vémola, referring to the fact that similar situations happened to Jiří Procházka in the UFC and Michal Martínk in KSW.
“If he chooses to go to Gamechanger, which I don’t think anyone can blame him for because it’s a big opportunity, I’ll go for the title with someone else,” he reiterated that the middleweight division is the main target.
“I am convinced that if I am healthy and I can come to the O2 Arena, that Kincl will take the fight and go against me,” he finished. Will we see the longed-for rematch?
