I’m leaving for more competition! They knew it in the Octagon and I’ve always been open about it, says Peshta about moving to the PFL

Viktor Pešta announced where he will fight again. That organization will be the American PFL, which does not go by the usual customs. Why did Pešta choose it and refused the offers of Oktagon and RFA?

Viktor Peshta last fought in September last year, when he defeated German Stephan Pütz in the welterweight title fight.

A rematch was subsequently promised to the public, but that won’t happen anytime soon. Peshta decided not to sign a new contract in the Octagon, as he wanted to go abroad.

He didn’t even take the offer of the newly formed RFA organization he was negotiating with, but the offer from the PFL was so interesting that he couldn’t pass it up.

“I am leaving for higher competition. I always said I wanted to fight the best at the best level. If I have the opportunity to fight at a higher level, I’m just going to go for it. Nobody can hold that against me. The people at OKTAGON knew that and I’ve always been open about it.

I mentioned the PFL and had it on my list of organizations that would potentially let me go to if I got a contract. Plus, the PFL does most of its games in Florida, so that would eliminate travel. Another thing I like about the PFL is that they are purely sports driven.

They go by the scoreboard. There are seasons. It starts in April and ends sometime in October or November. There’s two games where the fighters are broken down into a table… The champion from last year is starting from scratch again. It’s just the tables.

It’snot about who has a lot of followers, or that we want to expand to Germany, so we’ll give the fight to this one,” Peshta said on his stream.

He took a dig at Oktagon, which wants to expand into Germany this year, so he’s trying to make it more attractive to some German fans as well.

Pešta’s move is understandable, there are certainly no rifts between him and Oktagon and it is quite possible that we will see him in this organization in the future.
