I’m just an idiot, says Vémola. Who does he trust in the fight for the interim champion title?

Due to injuries Karlos Vémola had to withdraw from the title match, which was supposed to take place in the OKTAGON 26 tournament in Štvanice. He will be replaced by Samuel Pirát Krištofič. Terminator admitted that he should have given up earlier and also revealed who he trusts more in the battle for the interim title holder.

The Octagon organization has to change plans. Due to his injuries, Karlos Vémola, who was supposed to fight Marcin Naruszczka for the middleweight title, can’t appear at the Szczecin Arena.

Instead of Terminator, Samuel Kristofich will be in the cage. So the Pirate will get a unique chance to become the interim champion. Should he succeed, he would finally get his dream fight with Vemola.

Vémola admitted in an interview with iSport that his injury is really serious and that he wanted to go to Štvanica so badly that he trained with inflammation until he aggravated the whole injury.

“I’m just an idiot who should have given up right away. I made my injury much worse than what it could have been. All it took was taking a month of antibiotics and doing nothing for a month, I couldn’t do that and tore my triceps. I’m unteachable,” the Terminator let it be heard.

So he is aware that it will take him that much longer to recover from the injury. Plus, he’s facing another surgery.

What may definitely surprise fans then is that Vemola trusts his replacement in the fight with Naruszcka.

Vémola doesn’t think the Pirate deserves a title fight. However, he’s happy to see what he’s been planning for a long time come true – beating up Attila’s boy.

“Believe it or not, I think he’ll beat the Pole. Naruszczka has been training to be a wrestler, a right-handed fighter, now he’s going up against a striker, a southpaw. What’s the advantage for me? The Pirate isn’t going anywhere,” predicts a win for Kristofich Terminator.

But he sees a downside: “With Pirate, it’s going to be untenable for a while because he’s going to walk around with the interim title, but all the normal people will know that if the champion can’t, he has the title. At least I’ll be able to beat him up and take the title back.”

So we’re going to have a very interesting storyline.
