If a player is undisciplined, I feel like killing him. Will Conte get Tottenham back on track?

Italian coach Antonio Conte is the new coach of struggling Tottenham from Tuesday. After the club almost reached as far as the Champions League trophy in the 2019 edition with Mauricio Pochettino, there has been a retreat from glory. They finished sixth in the Premier League in the 2019/2020 season, and even seventh last year. This year didn’t look like a great success either, so Nuno Espirito Santo was sacked and Conte went to the club.
He is known for his unforgiving attitude towards players who do not listen to his instructions and show disrespect to teammates, superiors or other staff of the club whose jersey they wear. He made his feelings abundantly clear in an interview with Sky Sports, in which he was then still the Chelsea coach.
“I often touch on the subject of education and respect in my work. I demand respect from the players for me and for others. If a player doesn’t have the right attitude during a training session or doesn’t behave properly during other situations, I am very grateful to him,” Conte left a rhetorical question hanging in the air, which he then answered himself.
“In such cases, I would like to kill the player. I would prefer to have one less player than to turn a blind eye to it. Because if you do that from the position of a coach, you lose the cab,” the French legend and former Arsenal striker explained in a filmed interview.
Thierry Henry laughed at Conte’s answer at the time, but you can see from the Italian’s face that he is not joking that much. Sure, he wouldn’t take his player’s life, but the sinner would face the wrath of his coach, a possible suspension from the starting line-up or even a financial penalty.
What players should take anything from Conte’s statement at the time? Many fans don’t like the approach of Dele Alli or Ndombele, so let’s see if anything changes about him.
