Zlatan Ibrahimovic tackling his first big task

Does Stefano Pioli still have something to give to the team? This is an increasingly common question in the Italian media. With opinions that he has already reached his peak at AC Milan starting to see the light of day a year after he won the title with the team. But you can’t just live off that forever.

By all accounts, the Italian coach will still finish the current season at the San Siro. But after that he should make way for someone else. Even though he is under contract until 2025. Currently, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is facing his first big test.

It is Ibrahimovic who is often described as the main architect of the title that the Rossoneri are on their way to. He had an extremely positive influence on the team, even when he was injured. His importance in the title season was even put above that of Pioli by the experts.

Thus, for a long time, there was talk in the Italian media that AC Milan should bring the Swedish legend into the club’s management after his career was over. This is exactly what happened. He became marketing and communications manager.

It is he who is to be in charge of engaging a new coach. In fact, the club’s first choice was Italian troublemaker Antonio Conte, who would like to return to Serie A.

AC Milan is looking around for a new coach

Antonio Conte has been linked with the Rossoneri for several months. However, no deal has been reached yet. Zlatan Ibrahimovic could change that, though. According to La Repubblica, he has a very good relationship with the Italian coach and sees him as the ideal man for AC Milan.

But there are a few catches. The first one is Conte’s high salary, besides that he always has demanding requirements in the transfer market and he reportedly doesn’t like the fact that the departure of several mainstays, namely Theo Hernández, Mike Maignan and Rafael Leão, is in the cards.

However, if there is no deal with Conte, AC Milan are said to have other names in their sights. Coaches such as Thiago Motta, Raffaele Palladino and Roberto De Zerbi will be considered.

In addition, the Rossoneri could try an unexpected stunt when, according to the Italian media, they will try to approach Jürgen Klopp, who will leave Liverpool at the end of the season, in case of no agreement with Conte.
