I wanted to wrestle in KSW back when the Octagon didn’t even exist. I think now is the right time to use it, said Macek

Filip Macek has finished his journey through the Octagon and is now part of the Polish organization KSW, which is considered the biggest in Europe. This Saturday he will be able to show his face to the Polish audience when he challenges Sebastian Przybysz at KSW 82.

Almost from the very beginning of the Oktagon MMA organization, Filip Macek has been fighting there. But after many years and several lost title chances, something needed to change.

A new impulse came in the form of an offer from KSW, which took him under its wing. Macek will fight this Saturday at KSW 82, his opponent will be twenty-nine-year-old Sebastian Przybysz.

So he’s not getting any trimmings to start, in fact the winner of this fight will probably be the next challenger for the title and will be close to the bantamweight championship belt.

“I wanted to wrestle in KSW when the Octagon didn’t even exist yet. I couldn’t get in then, but since then the offer has come to my desk several times. I think now is the right time to take advantage of it,” said the experienced wrestler in an interview with Kaocko.cz.

The fact that Macek’s opponent is no fodder is confirmed by the fact that he was the champion last December. However, he lost the belt on points to Jakub Wiklacz.

Thus, Macek will be the underdog in the fight, as he is not well followed by the Polish public. “I have to say that I don’t care about this, I don’t care at all. I’ve been an underdog several times, it was the last time with Lopez. Moreover, Przybysz is a really tough opponent.

He’s a complex fighter who I’ll have to catch on to something. But I believe I can beat him in everything. Probably as much as he can beat me,” he added.

The KSW 82 tournament starts this Saturday at 7 pm. Macek and Przybysz will provide the main preliminary bout, so we can expect them shortly before midnight.
