Apparently no departure so far has hurt Oktagon MMA as much as Leo Brichta’s move under the banner of the new Real Fight Arena organization. The talented Czech fighter was close to a title fight, but still opted to make the move to potential competition.
However, he will have to wait a while for his fight. It should take place on May 14 at a tournament in Bratislava. There were supposed to be some offers for the fight already in play, but none came out. Still, the former Czechoslovak number one MMA star believes he will make it to May.
Brichta left Octagon MMA because he felt he needed a change. His expectations are obvious. “I expect to fight a lot for a lot of money,” he expressed in an interview with MMA Shorties.
According to him, the change of organization has already brought him a few sponsors. All is said to be as expected so far.
Many people are bad-mouthing Bricht’s move because of his alleged lack of ambition. The fighter himself, however, sees it differently. His goals are not low. He wants to win.
“Everything will depend on that. I want to fight and I want to fight in big organizations. I used to resist it, but I like the idea of having a few fights in the UFC. I see myself at the top of the food chain in a few years, I want to be a bit of a superstar,” he is clear.
Brichta then revealed that he is attracted to stand-up disciplines, specifically boxing, kickboxing and Thai boxing. So he would like to eventually fight in other stand-up disciplines, but for now he is waiting for the right offer to catch his eye.
