Patrik Kincl is the new face of the Oktagon organization, at the end of the year he will fight Samuel Kristofich for the title. Why did he decide to move to Oktagon and what does he say about his next opponent?
He fought for the welterweight title in his last fight in KSW, but lost to Robert Soldic and his contract in the Polish organization ended.
His goal was to stay in KSW and fight in the Czech Republic on and off. He had two options, Oktagon and the newly formed RFA. He was closer to the latter, as Oktagon wanted him to fight only with them.
But Kincl decided to go with Oktagon. The reason? “Definitely just the title shot. I noted that there was talk afterwards that I should earn the fight. That’s where my ego suffered a bit. Why the hell should I earn anything?” he said in an interview with iSport.
Kincl will be fighting for the middleweight title in his first fight in his new organization. His opponent will be Samuel Kristofich.
“As a human being, he doesn’t present himself in the best light. I didn’t follow him very much. I noted the affair that Pirat had with Vemola. I don’t have an opinion on it, but from the messages I get from fans, they can’t stand him.
I’ve got to maintain my position as a good guy again. But as a fighter, I definitely respect him. If only because he took a last-minute fight with Marcin Naruszczka to five rounds,” he added.
Who will be the winner? We will find out on December 30 during the Oktagon 30 tournament, which will be held in the biggest hall in the Czech Republic – O2 Arena.
