Karlos Vémola disrupted Patrik Kinclo’s celebration by jumping into the cage
Karlos Vémola once again caused quite a stir at the ongoing Oktagon 35. After Patrik Kincl won the middleweight title, he wanted to enter the cage and challenge the champion. But he was definitely not happy about disrupting his victory celebration, so the promoters of the Oktagon asked the Terminator not to enter the cage.
But he stood his head, jumped the cage and took the microphone from Ondrej Novotny. In addition, he directed harsh words towards Patrik Kinclova as he left the cage. This sent many fans of the home scene against each other.
Patrik Kincl evaluated his rival’s behaviour by saying that the Terminator embarrassed himself first of all. He described his jump into the cage as a desperate cry for attention. Karlos Vémola reacted by saying that he didn’t even want to go to Brno and was basically persuaded by the promoters themselves.
Novotný reacts to Vémola’s jump into the cage without much concern
Ondřej Novotný, co-owner and promoter of Oktagon, has now reacted to the controversial situation. “I told him to go to Brno, because we want him there, to sit in the front row and watch the fight,” Novotny confirmed the Terminator’s words in MMA Flight Through the World.
“We all expected the fight to be more even and long,” he said. “We thought we were going to film you and publish how you saw the fight,” he said, explaining the reasons for inviting Vemola to the tournament in Brno.
“Karlos is right in that it is quite normal for someone who is the next challenger or who wants to challenge the other to have free access to the cage,” said the charismatic promoter.
“On the other hand, Patrik didn’t want that and it seemed right to ask Pal, when I saw Karlos rushing in, to stop him,” he described the situation in the cage. “We’re practically doing it against each other because it would be good for us if Karlos got there,” he explained.
Vemola ended up in the cage anyway. “I don’t see any brutal drama, everyone can choose,” he said. “And I think it’s more or less part of our sport,” he added.
