I can’t leave MMA. They almost amputated my leg, but I will never give up, says Jaroslav Pokorný after the defeat. Will he fight Shem Rock?
Jaroslav Pokorný played his next game in Oberhausen on Saturday. He was challenged by German prospect Gjoni Palokaj. He dominated the close duel on points. What’s next for Jubox? He’s not defending himself against a heated and postponed battle with Shem Rock.

OKTAGON 53 delivered a great show, excellent performances and also quite a lot of Czech sadness. Three of the five Czech fighters have to bite defeat. Only Jan Malach and Miroslav Brož, who doesn ‘t feel like a winner himself, were happy with their victories.
Jaroslav Pokorný also had a relatively good chance in his duel, but Gjoni Palokaj finally overpowered him on points. However, it was an even battle, which Jubox could have easily won on their side. However, he didn’t make it to the end of the third round and that was the difference.
The German won all three rounds by only one judge. In the third round, the fight was fought for the win by two judges. The Czech had the upper hand for most of the round, but Palokaj produced a crushing finish that earned him an important and valuable scalp.
Jaroslav Pokorný was defeated after two wins. Back in November, he was supposed to fight in Manchester in a heated fight with Shem Rock, but during the staredown right after the weigh-in, the Liverpool native hurt the Czech veteran.
The fight never took place and it was not known if it would ever happen. Jubox stopped trying for the fight altogether, he wanted nothing to do with the Brit. When he changed his mind, Shaqueme started to cause trouble for the organization for a change and it was unknown if he would continue in the Oktagon.
Rock, however, managed to negotiate a better contract with his moves, which made the Czech legend a bit angry. So much so, that he didn’t avoid commenting on social media. But what’s next? And will their fight ever happen?
Will Pokorný fight Shem Rock?
The Jubox lost in Oberhausen, but it was not broken. He didn’t give up the match even for a moment. But he is 38 years old. How much longer can he fight? What will happen to him?
“I’m stuck in a situation where I can’t replace MMA. It’s more than a sport. I don’t know what to do without fighting. I want to keep doing it and I can fight in two hours. It’s not a problem. If someone tells me to fight in Eden, I’ll fight in Eden. It’s my life,” said Jaroslav Pokorný at the press conference.
“There are two guys in the cage. One always walks away defeated. But the important thing is the journey. It’s what moves us. We see in it what nobody else sees. I have a great family, a great girlfriend. You find that out in the preparation and in the game itself,” added the Czech veteran.
And what about the fight with Shem Rock? “No problem. I can fight anyone. But somebody always wins and somebody always loses. I almost had my leg amputated, I never gave up and kept going. I talked to my daughter on the phone today. She told me the Pokorny never give up. I’d like to pass that on to my daughter. It doesn’t matter that I lost, but I will never give up,” he concluded his statement.
Shem Rock already has a fight lined up for April, he will be appearing in Birmingham. However, we don’t know the name of his opponent yet. He is seeking to fight Samuel Bark himself.
