The domestic MMA scene is constantly growing, but the best fighters can already make good money. One of them is certainly Karlos Vémola, but the amount of his salary is still unknown. However, Vémola has spoken out slightly in an interview and gave fans a hint.
MMA fighters’ paychecks are steadily rising, but many can’t cash out. For example, such Leo Brichta, according to his own words, only received less than 80,000 per fight, a sum that will not excite you much without sponsors and social networks, given the expensive preparation.
But there are those who are already earning money that most of the population only dreams of. Karlos Vémola is one of them, as he is the biggest draw for the Octagon organization.
Vémola last fought in May when he defeated Milan Datelinka. However, he didn’t make weight for the fight and lost the organization’s middleweight championship belt.
For that, he was docked a portion of his paycheck, the value of which the 36-year-old fighter revealed in an interview with Europe 2, essentially hinting at how much he’ll make per fight.
“Even a master carpenter makes mistakes. It’s the first time it’s happened to me that I didn’t weigh in. I didn’t weigh 400 grams. I lost 22 kg for that fight. It cost me a quarter of a million crowns. That was taken out of my salary,” he said.
The fines are stipulated in the contracts and it has always been claimed that it is 10%. In this case, Vémola should have earned CZK 2 500 000. It must be said, however, that this amount is quite high and may not be very realistic.
So there are variants that Vémola has a higher percentage in his contract. If he had 15%, he would have earned CZK 1 666 666, if 20%, CZK 1 250 000. But the amount is certainly between these two.
There is also the question of whether or not he receives a percentage of the PPV, but the organization has said fairly recently that it does not plan to give its fighters a percentage of the PPV.
