Middleweight is the most popular weight class for most Oktagon fans. This is because it contains the most talked about Czech wrestler Karlos Vémola, who lost his title due to injury.
Now he wants it back, but he has to wait. At least until the end of the year. Because now the reigning champion Patrik Kincl is facing Alex Lohoré for the title.
Who will win? The favourite according to the bookmakers is the Czech fighter, who is also favoured by most of the domestic MMA scene. Kaocko.cz asked several fighters.
“I predict Patrik to win, I think he will win on points. It’s very hard to stop Alex, even Karlos couldn’t do it. I would guess that we will see a very similar match to the one he had with Lohore. And it will end the same way,” said David Kozma.
Ronald Paradeiser, who will also play in the tournament, sees it the same way. Matúš Juráček believes he will either win on points or by choke. But he should be careful of his stand-up fighting.
“At first I trusted Alex a bit more. But after a more detailed analysis of the two of them, I think Patrik will win. It will depend on which one of them asserts his style.
I think Alex is a bit better in the stand-up, Patrik has great ground work. If he keeps Alex there, I think he will win on points and defend the championship belt,” added Vlasto Čepo.
