Heavy hitter Cverna on the match with Pirate: I don’t care when I finish it. I don’t care what time I get to start

At the end of December Samuel Kristofich was supposed to fight for the middleweight title of the Octagon with Patrik Kinclo. However, the bout was postponed to February, allowing the Pirate to appear in a boxing match. His opponent will be heavyweight Alex Cverna, who is looking forward to the fight. What did he reveal?

The Pirate was supposed to fight in late December, Alex Cverna for a change in early December. But neither of them got their fight. Kristofich’s fight was postponed due to coronavirus precautions, Cverna tested positive for coronavirus for a change.

To make sure both fighters’ preparations don’t go to waste, their not-so-understandable boxing clash will take place at an event called Fight Night Challenge, featuring Attila Végh and Gábor Boráros, among others.

In an interview with Kaocko.cz, Cverna revealed that he originally planned to enter the fight at 115 kilos. However, he found out that he does not need to lose weight, so he should weigh about 123 kilograms in the fight.

A good friend of Karlos Vemola then expects the Pirate to weigh 90, 95 kilograms at most in the fight. “Then he would feel very tired in the ring,” Cverna explains his assumption.

“It’s clear to me that he’s going to fly around a lot and try to wear me down. But I’m not going to run after him. I’m experienced, he just doesn’t stand a chance with this one. I don’t care if I stop him right at the start or in the last round. I want to make it an attractive fight for the fans,” he added.

Cverna has had tremendous bad luck in his career. He has dropped out of many fights just before they were scheduled to take place, examples being his last scheduled fight in Germany or his scheduled fight under the Octagon cover this year when he twisted his ankle the day before the fight.

As he himself admitted, the only victory for him will be that he gets to the ring and finally sees the fight.

The fight will take place on December 27th.
