Patrik Kincl has had fantastic days. He swept Alex Lohoré and defended his middleweight title in the Octagon for the first time. The important victory guaranteed him a move in the world rankings, where he reached his career high.
He is still the reigning Oktagon champion. Patrik Kincl defended his title at the last tournament in Brno, having secured the second fastest win in a title fight in the history of the organization. He swept Alex Lohorý in less than two minutes.
It was a great performance that the Czech fighter can be proud of. It was expected to be an evenly contested fight, with Lohoré in great form and Kinclov in particular getting properly involved with his complexity. But it didn’t happen.
Now Kincl has been rewarded with a ranking move within the MMA world. Fight Matrix, the prestigious site that compiles the world rankings, has ranked the Octagon champion a perfect 52nd within the middleweight division.
The East Bohemia native has thus surpassed his career high. His best ranking was 57th. To make matters worse, he also surpassed his rival and quite possibly next opponent Karlos Vemola.
Although Vemola is now ranked 49th in the welterweight division, he was ranked 55th in the middleweight division before his duel with Aleksandar Ilic. Ilich, who also moved up in the rankings after a great win in Russia, is now behind Kinceloe at 54.
Kincl is even leaving some UFC stars behind, such as Makhmud Muradov, known to Czech fans, who is ranked 58th.
If the Kincl vs. Vemola fight eventually happens, it will be one of the best ranked fights to take place under the cover of the Octagon.
