Glismann dreams of the final with Kozma, van Suijdam wants to spoil his dreams. All the participants in the Tipsport Gamechanger are at a high level, says the Dane
A little understated, but attractive nonetheless. On May 20, in Prague’s O2 arena, Louis Glismann and Melvin van Suijdam will clash for the second time in their careers. The Danish fighter in particular had a lot to say before the duel.
A little understated, but attractive nonetheless. On May 20, in Prague’s O2 arena, Louis Glismann and Melvin van Suijdam will clash for the second time in their careers. The Danish fighter in particular had a lot to say before the duel.
The Danish fighter has been one of the big favorites since his introduction to the project. Originally Amiran Gogoladze was supposed to fight him, but he significantly outweighed him and eventually withdrew. He was replaced by Andrey Kalashnik, who lost on points after a good and brave performance.
But Glismann did not give a very convincing performance. The opposite was true of his opponent. Melvin van Suijdam was even the target of criticism. According to many fans, he had no place in the pyramid, he was the biggest outsider and in the very first round he was facing the popular Rado Úškrt.
However, the Dutch fighter managed to run over the Slovak star. He put in a fantastic performance, took care of the biggest surprise of the first round and wants to go as far as possible. But the aforementioned Glismann, who has already beaten him once, will stand in his way.
Glismann wants Kozma, van Suijdam will be up against
When the Dane had to choose the favourite of the whole pyramid, he chose Bojan Velickovic: “He showed a great performance in the first round, he has fought in big organisations before. On paper he is the favourite. But otherwise everyone here is really good and everyone has a chance.”
But his dream is different. He wants David Kozma to beat Alex Lohoré and then go all the way to the final against the winner of Velickovic vs. Jungwirth. “It would be a dream for me. He has a lot of fans, they would be behind him. I’m 100% on his side,” he admits.
But Melvin van Suijdam, the sensation of the first round, is going to disrupt his plans. “I think I’m one of the toughest opponents for Louis and one of the worst possible matchups. My grappling in the pyramid is definitely in the top three,” he says.
Glismann, however, had a quick response to that. “That’s why I picked you. I want to eliminate the biggest threats as soon as possible,” the Dane let it be known. Can he do it?7
