The rematch is finally here! Patrik Kincl lost to Karlos Vemola in their last fight and has been hoping for another chance ever since.
Now it’s coming, as the reigning champion will challenge his rival on December 30 at the O2 Arena in the last tournament of 2022.
“There was a time when I put this rematch out of my mind and stopped believing it would ever work. Four years of waiting are now over! I hope. I feel now is the perfect time in the finals.
I’ve settled in at middleweight, I’ve gained wrestling experience and I know how to approach my preparation. And yes, it’s personal for me. It’s a great boost to my training, I just have to keep my nerves in check. It’s going to be big!!! See you in December,” Patrik Kincl responded on his Instagram.
The two don’t necessarily like each other, although they have been friends in the past. However, a possible rematch has been talked about for quite some time and with Kincl winning both title fights, it was not out of the question.
“Surprisingly, this is the best paid fight for me in the history of the Czech Republic or Slovakia, because we just extended our contract with the Octagon,” Vémola told iSport.
