Oktagon promoter Ondřej Novotný honestly evaluated the statements of Petr Knížec, who criticized the level of referees Jan Voborník and Pavel Touš.
Petr Monster Kníže until recently fought in the biggest domestic MMA organization Oktagon, where he even got the opportunity to take the Welterweight title from David Kozma. However, he lost the fight to an opponent 15 years his junior and shortly afterwards announced his move to the rival RFA.
In an interview before his first fight in the new organization , he unleashed some rather harsh criticism of referees Jan Vobornik and Pavel Touche. They have been refereeing Oktagon tournaments for many years and are one of the mainstays among the judges on the domestic scene.
Monster, however, called both men im*eciles who have no business in the cage. Oktagon co-owner Ondrej Novotny also weighed in on the criticism, giving an honest assessment of what he considered to be the misplaced criticism of his former charge.
“I think it’s very unfair,” Novotny said in his podcast MMA Flight Around the World. “They’ve been in this market together for a long time, so I think he should be able to say it to their faces,” he offered his opinion on the matter.
“For me, of course, it’s bullshit, and it’s like, complete bullshit, and I often argue with the guys about some things,” he assessed Monster’s criticism honestly. “But I don’t give it any weight at all, for me it’s more for a laugh,” he said.
“It’s more gibberish to me than anything else,” he continued in his view of the Prince’s remarks. “These guys have been through so many tournaments, so many matches, so much training, so many European and world championships, that it’s really gibberish,” he added.
