The next big project of the biggest domestic organization Oktagon? It already is. While speculation has been denied for some time, an official announcement was made during Saturday’s tournament in Frankfurt.
The next big project of the biggest domestic organization Oktagon? It already is. While speculation has been denied for some time, an official announcement was made during Saturday’s tournament in Frankfurt.
Where else but Frankfurt was Oktagon going to announce the next big project. It was the local football club where a former great Czech football talent, who had the potential to become a great footballer, had been working for some time.
Of course, this is Martin Fenin, a former player of Teplice or Prague Slavia. He made history in Frankfurt when he scored a hat-trick on his debut. But as he showed his quality there, his career more or less came to an abrupt end.
Now he has a big journey ahead of him. In a year’s time, he will become a professional fighter and his journey will be charted by the Oktagon organization. He answered questions right in the cage at the Frankfurt Festhalle.
“I’m not scared, but I’m nervous. It’s a big chance,” he said in front of about 10,000 spectators. The reason why he is taking up the challenge in the first place is interesting.
“My wife, she said I had to try it. I want to show my wife and my daughter that I am still a professional athlete and that I can be one,” added the now 35-year-old former talent.
“I hope to be in the ring as soon as possible, but it’s not quite presentable yet. The road to the cage will take a while, so I still have to train for another ten months or so,” Fenin added.
